Finding Affordable Business Insurance

Sep 2nd, 2010 Posted in Business | no comment »

Different businesses have different requirements in order to be successful. However, one thing that all businesses need is insurance. Whether a business is home-based or a large corporation, every company needs some kind of coverage. The types of insurance sought are largely based on the business owner’s budget, but by researching business insurance rates any business can find ways to cut the cost of this necessary expense.

I recently wrote about the importance of insurance for WAHMs, but I never touched on the importance of finding the best deal. I hear a lot of talk about how researching insurance ratespeople are trying to save money because of the recession. It seems to me that saving money was a good idea long before the economic downturn. This is just as true for businesses as it is for individuals.

When businesses save money, they are able to pass some of the savings on to their customers. This results in more clients and ultimately more profits. Most small business owners try to find ways to stretch their budget. It is important that in cutting cost, that quality is not sacrificed. Insurance premiums are one of the few expenses that  can vary widely for the exact same benefit.

That is why there are so many agents serving the same areas. Thankfully, it is easy to research rates from several agents at once. For instance, someone seeking business insurance in California can get quotes instantly from many agents who specifically represent top companies in California.

The same holds true for every other state as well. It is also very easy to research the types of insurance a business needs by utilizing the abundance of information available online about business insurance.

Every business needs some kind of insurance. Thankfully we have the ability to make a single query that will return results from many local insurance agents at once. This easy and effective method of research will go a long way towards getting the best price on the insurance needed to secure the future of any business enterprise.

Giveaway (3 Win) Spaceheadz Interactive Multimedia Childrens Book

Sep 1st, 2010 Posted in Giveaways, Reviews | 6 comments »

Spaceheadz book coverThree aliens have invaded our planet! Not just any aliens mind you, but weird aliens disguised as two fifth-grade children and a hamster. The aliens have learned our language and culture from watching television. Now they need 3.14 million kids to say they’re SPHDZ so the world doesn’t get turned off!

That is the plot of NY Times bestselling author Jon Scieszka’s newest book Spaceheads. Scieszka has written many funny and popular books for children including including The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, The Time Warp Trio series and the Caldecott Honor Book The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Fairy Tales.

Scieska’s newest book begins with a regular kid named Michael K. meeting the aliens during his first day of school..then his life gets totally weird. Throughout the book, there are websites referenced which kids can log onto for an interactive, multimedia experience that augments the fun of the story. Check out this trailer.

Besides the humor present throughout the book, there are short educational lessons  sprinkled about as well. On http://www.sphdz.com, fans of the series can be Sphdz and help save the world. My Sphdz name is Fragrance-free Corn Syrup-SPHDZ.LH! To prove that I am Sphdz, I have a certificate and can even print out stickers!

be sphdz poster 1Other sites readers can visit include the Anti-Alien Agency where we can see what the government is doing to protect the Earth from alien invaders. We can also go to Michael K.’s fifth-grade class website and learn a little bit about the school he attends with his extraterrestrial friends. Spaceheadz is only the first book in author Jon Scieszks’s newest series, and I am sure the websites will expand as new books are released.

Scieszka is a former elementary school teacher who manages the website GuysRead which promotes literacy, especially for boys. There is a literacy gap widening between boys and girls, and Scieszka is combating that trend with book recommendations directed at boys. Of course many girls will also enjoy the books by authors such as Neil Gaiman, Shel Silverstein, and Lemony Snicket.

You can buy Spaceheadz from Simon and Schuster for only $14.95.
