Homeschool Freebie of the Day is offering the PDF E-Book Grammer Land for free tomorrow, Feburary 23! I have been subscribed to their site for a long time and am always amazed at the selection of great freebies they offer every day each week. The offers are only available for free one-day and then they are either gone or else cost money to download. I recommend this site to all parents and especially those who homeschool.
Here is what Homeschool Freebie of the Day says about Grammer Land..
“What is Grammar Land? Where is Grammar Land?
Have you ever been to Grammar Land? Wait a minute
and you shall hear…” In this classic read aloud book,
published way back in 1878, author Nesbitt creates
an amazing fantasy land not unlike “Alice In Wonderland”,
where the citizens are the nine parts of speech
(Mr. Proper Noun, Dr. Verb, Little Article, etc.)
and all are governed by the stern but wise old Judge Grammar.
It’s a fun, fascinating way to learn some of the basic grammar
rules all the while carried along by the very memorable
characters and a wild adventure to boot. Highly recommended!

Today ( February 1st) through February 14th, the first 500,000 people who sign up for the new Denny’s Rewards program online will receive a free burger and french fries. The coupon for a free burger and fries will be good March 1st through March 7th, 2010, so mark your calendars.
When I was signing up for the Rewards program, it was nonspecific about the special offer I would get in my email for joining before 01/14. I learned about this deal and what it entailed through Mavin of Savin! Denny’s has really good burgers so I am excited about the prospect about eating for free.
Dennys is also offering everyone free Grand Slams from 6am – 2pm on February 9th! They are going to be advertising this special during the super bowl, so lines will be long and the restaurants will be grand slam-packed!
Thank you Mavin of Savin for giving me the heads up on both of these great deals.

Go to www.Wizz-e.com and download two free animated e-books! These 24 pg. e-books tell classic childrens’ stories using text, cartoon animation, and sound. Each story contains an option to turn off narration in case you or your child would prefer to read the story and view the moving storybook images. There is no long registration process to access the books.
Upon entering Wizz-E, you will be greeted with a link that takes you to the free e-books. After clicking the link, you are only asked for your name, e-mail, and how you found the site. They have a comforting antispam/privacy policy, and of course be sure to tell them you found the site through Cakeblast
Then you get to download two classic childrens’ tales and watch them come to life on your computer. Once you own these free books, you will likely want to buy more.
Wizz-e has stories to fit any budget. From a simple-math ebook for $1.99 to the award winning e-book Hoop-La the Hippo for $8.99, you will find something that you and your kids can enjoy together. Many classic childrens’ stories such as The Emperor’s New Clothes and The 3 Little Pigs are $2.99 each. You can purchase When I Don’t Want to Sleep on sale for $1.99 until Oct. 9th when it goes back to being $8.99 again. That’s a savings of $7.00!

I was not compensated for this review, but I won six e-books from the
Bless Their Hearts Mom website. I sat down with my son and checked out some of the
free sample pages that are included with all of
Wizz-E’s book selections before choosing
When I Don’t Want to Sleep,
Add One Teddy,
Animal Alphabet,
Hoop-La the Hippo, &
What Time Is It?
These are
all high-quality e-books that are as educational as they are entertaining. My son is just learning how to read, and these books are making it easier to teach him. If he wants to know what a page says he can turn on the narration. If he wants to read at his own pace he turns the narration off. Of course, nothing can substitute reading the stories together with your child, but animations are more engaging than the still images in an “old-school” picture book. Get
the freebies and try them out for yourselves!
