New Years Shot Of Jodorowsky With A Charlie Kaufman Chaser

I spent New Years Eve watching movies. The first film I watched was an ultraviolent 1970s Spanish subtitled psychodelic western film called El Topo. This film was directed by the infamous Alejandro Jodorowsky. Many people have never heard of Jodorowsky, but when Marilyn Manson married Dita Von Teese a few years ago, he was the guy who performed the ceremony.

Mike White Rocks

Last night I watched the film, Year of the Dog. This movie was the directorial debut of Mike White, although I did not realize this when watching. I watched the movie with only a basic idea of the plot, and only a mild interest in the actors. After viewing this fine little gem of a motion picture, I looked it up on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) to find out who the director was. I also wanted to rave about it on the message board.

When I saw the director’s name and picture, I understood why the movie was so good. I recognized White from an hour-long TV special, detailing Jack Black’s rise to fame.
