Google Search Stories Video Creator

Have you seen the Google commercial where the student finds love in Paris? The concept was simple, but it was executed brilliantly. The entire advertisement was filmed as a series of Google searches beginning with a typical search someone might make if they were thinking of studying abroad. It aired during the Super Bowl this year and I was amazed that such a touching story could be told through search queries. The commercial can be accessed from Google Search Stories.

Now, everyone has the opportunity to tell stories using the same techniques as the Parisian Love ad! With Google Search Stories Video Creator, users can type in a series of search terms and turn it into a YouTube video.

To get started, just go to Google Search Stories on YouTube. Click the link that says “Create Your Own.” and start entering search terms. Google provides all the transitional effects and a selection of free music to choose from. If you want to change something, you can go back and edit it. This is an easy way to make a short interesting video, and with a few mouseclicks you can share these videos on Facebook, Twitter, or embed it into a blog: )

This was my first attempt at putting together a search story. I think for my next one I will stick to simpler terms. Regardless, the only limit is your imagination (and 50 characters per search term). I am including a link to a much better Google Search Story created by Sesame Street below, so you can get a better understanding of the possibilities.

Facebook has a Google Search Stories application available! You can use it to view other  search stories and create your own to share directly onto your profile.

I would love to see any Google Search Stories that you create!

If you create a search story, please leave a comment below with the link to your creation. I will definitely check out all the videos and comment on them as long as you are leaving links to your own videos. Don’t worry, I will not say anything negative about your story. In fact, if I like your Google Search Story enough I will tweet it and put the link on my personal Facebook page!

Google contacted me directly and asked me if I would tell my readers about this new feature of Google / YouTube. I was provided with instructions on how to create a search story, as well as links to share. I was not compensated with products or money for the video or for writing this post. The opinions expressed are 100% mine and haven’t been reviewed or edited by anyone other than Larry H. at Cakeblast
