The entire advertisement was filmed as a series of Google searches beginning with a typical search someone might make if they were thinking of studying abroad. It aired during the Super Bowl this year and I was amazed that such a touching story could be told through search queries. The commercial can be accessed from Google Search Stories.
Now, everyone has the opportunity to tell stories using the same techniques as the Parisian Love ad! With Google Search Stories Video Creator, users can type in a series of search terms and turn it into a YouTube video.
To get started, just go to Google Search Stories on YouTube. Click the link that says “Create Your Own.” and start entering search terms. Google provides all the transitional effects and a selection of free music to choose from. If you want to change something, you can go back and edit it. This is an easy way to make a short interesting video, and with a few mouseclicks you can share these videos on Facebook, Twitter, or embed it into a blog: )
This was my first attempt at putting together a search story. I think for my next one I will stick to simpler terms. Regardless, the only limit is your imagination (and 50 characters per search term).
