Win Tickets to Yo Gabba Gabba Live!

Feb 17th, 2010 Posted in Giveaways Offsite | one comment »

When I posted about four Yo Gabba Gabba Giveaways the other day, I missed a few really good ones. I posted about one giveaway at Mommy Bits ending tonight to see Yo Gabba live in Cincinnati on March 20, but missed several other contests with similar prizes.

At Chefdruck Musings, there is an awesome giveaway where one participant will win FOUR tickets to the Cincinnati 2pm show on March 20! This giveaway ends on Friday, Feb. 27th.

Cincinnati Coupons is giving away TWO SETS of two tickets each to Yo Gabba Gabba Live’s 2:00 pm Cincinnati show! This giveaway will end on Feb. 21, 2010 at 9 pm.

Domestic Debacle is giving away 2 tickets to the 2:00 pm showing in Cincinnati! Ends Friday, February 26th at 10:00 am!

There are also a couple of giveaways still taking place for Yo Gabba Gabba Live in St. Louis! Our family lives about the same distance from each of these two cities, so we would be happy to win any of these great contests.

Go to STL Mommy and enter to win 2 tickets to the 2pm St. Louis show at the Fox Theater on Sunday March 21st! A second winner will receive 1 Yo Gabba Gabba! Music is Awesome CD and 1 of the brand new Yo Gabba Gabba! “Birthday” DVDs! This giveaway will end February 20th at 5 pm.

The Peterson Family is giving away 3 tickets to the 5pm show at the St. Louis Fox Theater on March 21. Like the other St. Louis giveaway, this one also has a  second winner who will win Yo Gabba Gabba’s CD Music is Awesome and the new Yo Gabba Gabba DVD Birthday! There are daily entries available for this giveaway that ends Tuesday, March 2 at midnight.

This is all of the giveaways I know about for now. If I hear about any more, I will update my Twitter and/or Facebook Pages

Christmas 2009 Is Finally Over

Dec 27th, 2009 Posted in Family, Holidays, Lifestyle | 2 comments »

The last four days have been hectic. Christmas came at us full force, but the kids had a great time and we saw lots of people that we do not see very often. Our children had their picture taken with Santa at a family gathering Jan. 23rd, and at the mall on Christmas Eve.

River and Zen both received lots of cool toys and other gifts this year. In fact, I am afraid Santa will have a lot of trouble “topping” this Christmas in the future. We tried taking more pictures, but Zen began crying. He also cried when his picture was taken at the mall. I guess he is a bit SantaClaustraphobic.

I am sure that once Zen gets old enough to realize that his presents came from Santa, he will love jolly ol’ St. Nick. Judging by the picture to the left,  he seems to think Mommy gave him all those wonderful gifts. Or maybe all that love in his eyes is being directed at the cameraman.

It is really cool that Zen just began sitting up about a month ago and now he is seriously playing with all his new toys. Even more surprising is that he was able to unwrap many of his own presents. His brother River didn’t seem interested in tearing the wrapping paper until he was 2-years old. Zen isn’t even 8-months old and he tore right into his gifts like a seasoned pro. I think he must have learned a lot from watching his experienced older brother.

Zen really adores and looks up to his big brother River. If this Christmas is any indication of things to come, they will surely grow up to be best friends!

August – Oreck Halo Vacuum Giveaways

Aug 12th, 2009 Posted in Giveaways, Product Type | 2 comments »

Our family needs a new vacuum cleaner and I would love for it to be an Oreck Halo. And there are at least three current blog giveaways for these amazing cleaning machines.

With our new baby getting ready to crawl, our family would appreciate the Halo’s ability to kill up to 99% of bacteria, viruses, allergens and molds that hide in carpets and floors. Our family would  really appreciate having this technology without paying the reasonable yet beyond our current budget $599.00 for it. If we don’t win, I hope one of my readers will. Good luck :)

For an extra chance at winning an Oreck Halo vacuum cleaner, head over to Womans World magazine’s contest page by September 12, 2009 and enter to win one of two of these fabulous virus-killing grimefighters. The odds of winning a blog giveaway may seem better than a sweepstakes, but my wife won $150 in Cheesecake Factory  GCs from Redbook, so winning a national magazine sweepstakes can happen.

Freemason Fish Fry

Aug 10th, 2008 Posted in Family, Lifestyle | no comment »

My family went to a fish fry fundraiser for the Freemasons yesterday. I’m not a Mason, but my Dad is Worshipful Master (his real title!) of his lodge. By my family I really mean my family. I thought it would just be my parents, my wife Bec, our son River, and I going, but when we arrived, nearly everyone was there! Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews..it was almost like a family reunion. This was a surprise, but it was nice to see everyone.

The dinner was good. I took a few pics, but I wish I could have taken more. It seemed that most of my extended family left as soon as they were finished eating. After dinner, we chatted a while before going to my Dad’s house with his sister (my Aunt Teresa) and her husband (my Uncle Booty). My Mom is watching my Aunt’s dog, Izzy for the week.

We stayed for several hours, and let our son play with Izzy and my Mom’s cats. Since we don’t have any pets, other than Hermit crabs, this was a real treat for River. It was nice for him to get to run around and play with creatures of the nonhuman variety.
