New Music Monday – The Happy Hollows

The Happy Hollows are one of the most exciting bands that I have heard in a long time. The vocalist/guitarist Sarah Negahdari, has incredible energy and talent. Bassist Charlie Mahoney and drummer Chris Meanie actualize the natty commotion that defines The Happy Hollow’s sound. Smart lyrics & well-crafted songs punctuate the kinetics displayed throughout each song.

They have spent over two-years working on their debut album Spells since 2006’s critically acclaimed EP Bunnies and Bombs. This Tuesday, October 6th, Spells will finally be available for download on itunes. Currently, this fantastic debut can be streamed on The Happy Hollows bandcamp page.

Unfortunately, The Happy Hollows do not have a video for any of their new songs. The live performance videos available do not have a good enough sound quality to do them justice. I have included a decent video from 2006, but everyone really needs to hear the new album. Over the last three years, The Happy Hollows have become one of the best alternative rock bands around. After Spells hits stores, everyone will know it.
